The zArt Quartet was formed in 2016 from four young musician’s passion for chamber music and in particular for string quartet repertoire. Thanks to the great and continuous support of Alessandro Moccia (Konzertmeister Champs Élysées) and Andrea Repetto (Quartetto di Torino), together with the personal experience of each musician, the quartet built rapidly a vast repertoire.
The musicians attended the String Quartet Master at the Conservatorio “Claudio Monteverdi” in Bolzano under the guidance of Andrea Repetto and they are currently attending the Postgraduate Course at the Musik-Akademie Basel in Rainer Schmidt’s class (Hagen Quartett). They participated in masterclasses with Eberhard Feltz, Lorenzo Coppola, Rainer Schmidt, Valentin Erben.
In 2017, the quartet has been selected to take part in Le Dimore del Quartetto.
The zArt Quartett won the first prize at the “Sergio Dragoni” National Competition for String Quartets in Milan. On the same competition, the ensemble received the Public Choice Award and the Best Performance Award for the contemporary work “Aria”, composed by Silvia Colasanti for the competition. The quartet performed for Società del Quartetto di Milano, Filarmonica di Rovereto, Società del Quartetto di Vicenza and Colibrì Ensemble for which they played Schubert’s Quintet for two cellos together with Giovanni Sollima.
