Villa Guardatoia, owned by the Cecchi de Rossi family, is located in Pescia and overlooks the surrounding plain. It is set in Tuscany, in a land well known for its historical garden’s heritage and for the tradition of excellent nursery gardening.
Il Giardino di Villa Guardatoia, the villa’s garden, opens to the public for the very first time as concrete example of a private garden of a XVII-century aristocratic house. Inside the garden, walking in the botanical path means enjoying a relaxing and peaceful moment. People find themselves surrounded by roses, ancient camellias, orange trees, and aromatic and aquatic plants, in a timeless atmosphere.
The Association Il Giardino di Villa Guardatoia, run by Martina and Candida Cecchi Rossi, was born out of the will of preserving and sharing with the public the heritage and tradition of Tuscan gardens.
It is rare to find a garden like that of Villa Guardatoia, inserted in the original context of a property that maintains unchanged its farmlands. The agricultural activity and the agritourism are conducted by the family company Azienda Agricola Marzalla, that produces local products such as the Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, the Vinsanto Doc della Valdinievole, the grappa and the wildflower honey.
