A villa of wonders on the shores of Lake Como
Cascading from atop its headland to the very edge of the waters, Villa del Balbianello comands unrivaled views over majestic Lake Como. Built for a Cardinal in the 18th century, the villa was frequented by literati and travelers until its last private owner, Guido Monzino, impressed on it his passion for mountaineering. Learn of the feats he achieved, see mementos from his explorations and admire the tasteful furniture and fine art with which he decorated his home. Its enviable setting, refined interiors and immaculately manicured gardens continue to make Villa del Balbianello FAI’s most visited property.
