The renaissance in the Euganei Hills

A country retreat from the turn of the 16th century and inspired by antiquity dominates the landscape of the Euganei Hills. Built as a summer residence for the Bishops of Padova, it is the sublime work of famous architects, including Giulio Romano, and is decorated with paintings by the Flemish Master Lambert Sustris. The villa is an exquisite experiment of the Humanist movement in which architecture and nature blend seamlessly in the loggia’s and terrace’s spaces to achieve man’s wellbeing.

Donated by Maria Teresa Olcese Valoti and Pierpaolo Olcese, in memory of Vittorio Olcese – 2005
