The young Czech ensemble Quasi Trio was established in 2014 in Prague where it has been based since. Currently finishing Master studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, since autumn 2019 the trio has also been studying at Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst (MDW) in Vienna in the class of Johannes Meissl (ass. Vida Vujić) and Avedis Kouyoumdjian. The ensemble is as well a graduate of a two-year internship in the class of Trio Wanderer at CRR in Paris. Broading experience, Quasi Trio has successfully attended many international competitions and master classes (P. Schuhmayer, P. Cropper, H. Beyerle etc.). Besides their studies in Prague, all three members have also completed various internships in prestigious European universities (Paris, Dresden etc.).
Although Quasi Trio is aiming its concert activities mostly on the Czech audience, it also takes part in foreign projects and master classes. The ensemble is awardee of international competitions (the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation International Competition, International Plovdiv Chamber Music Competition, etc.), it owns multiple prizes, awarded by the International Summer Academy Prag- Wien-Budapest. As laureates of these, they were also given opportunities to perform in the Austrian broadcast ORF. Among the successes of the ensemble, there are several prizes for exceptional interpretation of Bohuslav Martinů’s work, which the members were awarded both in solo and chamber music categories in the Czech republic and abroad.
Besides collaboration with prestigious Czech orchestras (the PKF-Prague Philharmonia, the Czech Philharmonic, the Pardubice Chamber Philharmonic, the BERG Orchestra, etc.) within their chamber and educational series, the Quasi Trio members also appear as soloists, for instance in the L. van Beethoven’s Triple Concerto in C major.
