Quartetto Felix was funded in 2015 at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and in 2017 it was awarded by the President of the Italian Republic with the ‘Giuseppe Sinopoli’ Prize. ‘Felix’ refers both to happiness, as requirement that makes chamber music possible, and to the Latin name of Campania, the Italia region where the four musicians come from.

In 2017, the quartet graduated from the Chamber Music course at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under the guidance of Carlo Fabiano. They are regularly invited by important institutions and concert societies in Italy and abroad (Amici della Musica di Firenze, Fondazione William Walton, Trame Sonore – Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Euroclassical, Centro Studi Musicali Ferruccio Busoni, Arezzo Classica, Firenze Fortissimissimo Festival, Festival Sesto Rocchi, Fondazione Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, Agimus), with excellent feedbacks from audience and critics.

In 2016, the ensemble attended the Chamber Music course with Bruno Giuranna at Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena (Italy), being awarded with a Merit Diploma and a scholarship. In 2017, they won 2nd Prize and Audience Special Prize at III Concorso Internazionale di Musica da Camera “Massimiliano Antonelli” in Latina. They participated in masterclasses with  Bruno Canino, Alberto Miodini, Enrico Bronzi, Frank-Immo Zichner and Ulrike Hoffman. As Nominated Ensemble of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), Quartetto Felix attended sessions at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and Conservatoire Nationale Superieure de Paris under the guidance of Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, Dirk Mommertz, Itamar Golan, Lorenza Borrani, Antonello Farulli, Diana Ligeti, Patrick Judt. Currently they are attending the European Academy for String Quartets at Scuola di Musica di Fiesole with Quartetto Belcea, Andrea Nannoni and Christophe Giovaninetti (Quartetto Ysaye).

In 2019, the quartet has been supported by William Walton Foundation with a scholarship. They were invited to ‘La Stanza della Musica’, broadcasted on RaiRadio3, performing live music by Walton, Mahler and Schnittke. They were selected by Leonidas Kavakos to partecipate in VIII Leonidas Kavakos Violin Masterclass & Chamber Music Workshop, held at the Athens Academy. The ensemble has been selected to take part in Le Dimore del Quartetto network.
