The Echos Quartet was born in 2013 within the Music Conservatory in Turin (Italy), from the passion for chamber music shared by four musicians, thanks to the inspiration driven by Antonio Valentino and Claudio Ravetto.
A few months after its beginning, the Echos Quartet collaborated with Quirino Principe and Bruno Giuranna, performing Brahms’ Quintet op.111 at the end of a masterclass in Turin.
The ensemble studied at Accademia di Musica di Fiesole with Quartetto Belcea, Christophe Giovaninetti, Antonello Farulli, Miguel da Silva and Andrea Nannoni. Moreover they had the chance to attend classes with Adrian Pinzaru, first violin of Quartetto Delian, Lukas Hagen, Oliver Wille, Andras Schiff, Quartetto di Cremona, Eckart Runge, Sergei Bresler and others.
Currently the quartet is studying at Accademia “W. Stauffer” in Cremona with Quartetto di Cremona.
They have been invited to perform as emergent Italian quartet at “North Norfolk Music Festival” 2019, “Quatuors à Cordes en Pays de Fayence” and “Quatuors à Bordeaux” 2018, performing at Chateau Lafite and studying with Alain Meunier, Luc-Marie Aguera (Quartetto Ysaie), Quartetto Prazak, Simon Rowland Jones and Daniel Roberts (Quartetto Castalian). The quartet has been nominated by Scuola di Musica di Fiesola for ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy) and it attends sessions with great concert masters such as Hatto Beyerle (Quartetto Alban Berg), Johannes Meissl (Quartetto Artis), Patrick Judt, Dirk Mommertz (Quartetto Faurè), Petr Prause (Quartetto Talich) and others. They performed for important chamber music seasons such as Unione Musicale di Torino, Società del Quartetto di Milano, Ravenna Festival, Filarmonica Laudamo di Messina, MiTo SettembreMusica, Gioventù Musicale Italiana, CaMu in Arezzo.
The Echos Quartet recorded for Velut Luna the album “Heart/Strings” with the jazz singer Lucia Minetti, with music by Oscar del Barba and lyrics by some of the Italian greatest poets and writers.
The ensemble has been selected by Le Dimore del Quartetto and joined the network in 2017, performing in the most beautiful houses around Europe.
In 2016, they were awarded by Premio Abbiati “Piero Farulli”, prestigious award assigned by Italian musical critics.
In May 2019, the Echos Quartet won the First Prize at the “Gasparo da Salò” Chamber Music Competition in Brescia and Second Prize at Concorso nazionale per Quartetti d’archi Sergio Dragoni in Milan.
