The Malevich Piano Quartet appeared in a Chamber music class of Henk Guittart (Schönberg String quartet) in Maastricht Conservatorium at the end of year 2015, but before stabilizing in one quartet-formation the ensemble had been existing already and “tried-out” in various formations. The quartet had taken part in number of festivals such as Pianoscope, Clef de la Cité, Piano Prestige, Storioni Festival Academy – and competition, where the piano quartet was a 2nd prize winner in January 2017 – and Orlando Festival.
In August 2017, the ensemble made a premiere- recording (Etcetera records) of a piano quartet written by a Dutch composer Oscar van Hemel (1892-1981). In November 2017, the Malevich Piano Quartet won the 1st Prize and Gnessin Artistry Prize at the Taneyev Chamber Music Competition. In June 2019, they were awarded 2nd prize on the 7th Chamber Music Competition in Cologne.
The Quartet have participated in several masterclasses with such renowned musicians as Jean-Bernard Pommier, Storioni Trio, Sam Haywood, Osiris Trio, Rusquartet, Sigiswald Kuijken and Alexander Zemtsov.
Since October 2018, the ensemble has been studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Köln with Anthony Spiri and Harald Schoneweg (Cherubini String quartet).
