“Try to imagine a world without music, it’s the same thing you would experience in a world without decoration.” Barnaba Fornasetti
Casa Fornasetti has been the historic house of the Fornasetti family since the late 19th century. Located in the Milanese quarter of Città Studi, today it is a unique testimony of the unmistakable creativity that gave rise to the homonymous Italian brand. The building was built in the 19th century by Piero Fornasetti’s parents. Modified and enlarged, it became the place where the Milanese artist lived with his family, founded, and then carried on, the activity of his creative atelier. Although the building was originally designed in for the exclusive use of the family, Piero concentrated the life of the house and its evolution around the artistic activity and the production of objects, making it a real one laboratory, complete with a lithographic printer.
While preserving its history, today the Casa is no longer a production site, but a private home and the beating heart of Fornasetti’s creative and design activity. Thanks to the creative intervention of Barnaba Fornasetti, son of Piero and Artistic Director of the Milanese atelier, today the House, an elegantly overloaded and mysterious place, is the manifesto par excellence of Fornasetti’s aesthetics, imaginative ability and brilliant flicker.
