The Quartetto Dàidalos was founded in Novara (Italy) in October 2014 by four friends’ desire to deepen their study of chamber music.
Although the really young age of the four members, the Quartetto Dàidalos has already performed in several concerts, both in Italy and abroad, playing in outstanding venues (Teatro Ponchielli and Auditorium Arvedi in Cremona, Palazzo Rosso in Genova, Teatro Sociale in Como, Ludwigs Festspielhaus in Füssen, Helsinki IIC, San Francisco IIC) and for many important concert societies like Società del Quartetto di Milano and Bergamo, Amici della Musica di Firenze, Musica Insieme Bologna and Unione Musicale in Torino.
Between 2015 and 2018 the Quartetto Dàidalos has been studying at the “Walter Stauffer” Academy in Cremona under the guidance of the Quartetto di Cremona. It had the opportunity to attend masterclasses held by L.Dutton (Emerson Quartet), N.Prishepenko (Artemis Quartet), S.Bernardini (Berliner Philarmoniker), D. Waskiewicz, L. Hagen (Hagen Quartett), S.Bresler (Jerusalem Quartet).
The musicians attended also summer masterclasses and ECMA sessions held by H.Beyerle, J. Meissl and P. Jüdt. During the ECMA session in Bern they had the privilege to play in the opening podium concert. Winner of the “Piero Farulli” Association scholarship (Pépinière), they were invited to join the international project Le Dimore del Quartetto as one of the most talented young Italian string quartet.
The Quartetto Dàidalos was awarded with a special prize by the Italian branch of the Federation Internationale des Jeunesses Musicales, which offered the ensemble several concerts in the upcoming seasons. The ensemble is currently studying under the guidance of Patrick Jüdt at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern.
