Recipients of the St James’s Chamber Music Prize, the Celia Quartet was formed at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2017. Since then it has performed in London at St Martin-in-the-Fields and St James’s Piccadilly as well as many other venues in the UK and Italy. Last year the quartet played at a Wigmore Hall Study Group session, exploring Haydn’s Op.64 quartets.
The quartet recently performed together with the Echos Quartet for the opening concerts of the 15 th North Norfolk Music Festival and collaborated with the renowned Italian pianist Stefania Cafaro at the “Note Di Un Sogno – Clara e Robert Schumann” Festival in Città della Pieve.
They are mentored by Simon Rowland-Jones and have participated in masterclasses with the Edward Dusinberre (Takács Quartet), Fredrik Schøyen Sjölin (Danish Quartet), Daniel Roberts (Castalian String Quartet), Dimity Hall (Goldner String Quartet) and Ursula Smith.
In 2019 the quartet has also been selected to join “Le Dimore del Quartetto” network and have been admitted into the Walter Stauffer Academy, joining the class of Quartetto di Cremona.
