CASA MARCHETTI RAVISCEDO, CREMIA (CO)

Categories , ,

A traditional farmhouse in Lombard style, built in several phases. As the families who lived and worked on its grounds flourished, cultivating vineyards and grain, so too was the house enriched by expansions and additions to the living space. The oldest section of the house dates from the 1700s. The rectangular structure includes a long balcony upon which ears of corn were hung to dry. The stable, attached to the house, was still active until a few decades ago, and today has been transformed into a museum of agricultural tools. Connected to the house are a votive chapel (probably built in the 1800s), a granary later transformed into a groundskeeper’s house, and another stable still currently unmodified.
