“FRANCESCO RIZZOLI AND HIS BEQUESTS”: GUIDED TOUR
On the occasion of the concert, it is possible to book a guided tour, specially organized for the public of Musica con Vista, of the exhibition “Francesco Rizzoli and his bequests”, in Rizzoli’s historic headquarters , the Monumental Complex of San Michele in Bosco. The show celebrates the 125 years since the birth of the Orthopaedic Institute and 40 years of recognition of Instituto di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico (IRCCS). The tour is articulated on a few thematic focuses that have made the history of the Institute and of medicine: the Viseur room is taken from Rizzoli’s historic archive, in the Vasari room, the ancient monks’ refectory, are exhibited the materials which testify the role of Rizzoli in the cure of the injured during and after World War I. The monumental hallway, named Manica Lunga (Long Sleeve), famous for the telescope effect on the Asinelli Tower, hosts a suggestive photographic section, while a selection of Tables of the School of Anatomical Drawing is shown in the Scientific Library, in which is also collocated, thanks to the loan from the State Archives, the handwritten will of Francesco Rizzoli. Along an ideal journey back to the origins of a unique story of cure and research.
In order to safely participate, the organization will ensure physical distancing and compliance to the regulation in force. It will also be necessary for all participants to wear masks.
