The Quartet “Dulce in corde” was born in 2018 from the love for making music together and the love for chamber music. The name the Latin, whose literal meaning is “sweetness in the heart”, plays on the misunderstanding given by the word “corde” which means “heart”, but recalls the strings of instruments in Italian. Thus, sweetness of the heart is reflected in the sweetness of the sound.
The Quartet specialized with M° Gabriele Bellu in Lucca and with M° Jorg Winkler in the chamber music courses of the “Centro Studi Musica e Arte” in Florence.
The musicians participated in “Music With Masters”, a program of musical specialization held in Pistoia with the Masters of Quartetto di Cremona, cellist Eckart Runge (Artemis Quartet) and violinist Sergei Bresler (Jerusalem Quartet). They followed the Masterclasses of the Quartetto Prometeo in Rome. They participated in the “Festival IMOC 2020” in Chianciano Terme, following the Masterclasses of Maestro Patrizio Serino and Jorg Winkler.
The Quartet is currently attending the Advanced Course for String Quartet held by the Quartetto di Cremona at the Academy “W.Stauffer” in Cremona.
In 2020 the Quartet “Dulce in corde” was selected to join the network of Le Dimore del Quartetto.
The musicians perform regularly in Tuscany in festivals such as “Lucca Classica Music Festival”, “Il Settecento Musicale a Lucca” and “Il Canto degli Alberi”, collaborating with the Associazione Musicale Lucchese Onlus and the Sagra Musicale Lucchese. They have collaborated with the Centro Studi Musicali F.Busoni of Empoli, with the Centro Studi L.Boccherini of Lucca, with the Festival Opera Barga and with different institutions of the territory of Lucca.
They also collaborate with the Fondazione Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, performing in Sesto Calende (VA) as part of the “Festival Lago Maggiore Musica 2020”, in San Benedetto del Tronto in January 2021 and in Todi in summer 2021. They participated in the fourth round of “Che Musica Ragazzi!”, organized by the Fondazione Musica Insieme of Bologna at the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona.
In June 2021 the musicians performed the premiere of the composition “Di Candele e di Lumi” written by Daria Scia on the occasion of the project “Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso – 150 years”, ideated by Le Dimore del Quartetto.
The Quartet participated as Ensemble in residence at the “Ticino Musica Festival 2021” in Switzerland, performing within the Festival and taking part in the project “Opera Studio”, and it has been selected to perform at the “Festival Quartettissimo” in Budapest in September 2021.
