The Women’s Public Space

The City of Milan finally has a monumental statue portraying a female public figure, and another will be inaugurated in the course of 2022. Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso and Margherita Hack, whom the two statues are entitled to, represent two complementary female symbols, protagonists in the effort to build a more equal society that offers equal gender opportunities. The round table dedicated to this initiative discusses the political and symbolic significance of the choice of giving public space back to women, conceived as sites for the sharing of values and common experiences.
