COMPETITIONS 

"SERGIO DRAGONI" NATIONAL COMPETITION FOR STRING QUARTETS

Eligibility requirements
The competition is opened to string quartets with at least three components with Italian nationality, and with an amounting total age lower than 125 years at the date of May 29th 2019.

MASTERCLASS & FESTIVALS

STRING QUARTET AND CHAMBER MUSIC FOR STRINGS AND PIANO


Siena, Italy
July 9th-21st

The course is held by Günter Pichler, founder of Quartetto Alan Berg, and besides being dedicated to the repertoire for string quartets, the Course will also include that of string ensembles (from trios to sextets) and of string ensembles with piano (from trios to quintets).

 

Age limit: for already existing ensembles, an average of 30 years. However, ensembles that can demonstrate they have been together for at
least 3 years are exempt from this age limit.

VIRTUOSO & BELCANTO FESTIVAL


Lucca, Italy
July 16th - 29th  2018

 

Completed advanced courses held by international maestros, coming from the most prestigious world institutions: Luc-Marie Aguera (Quartetto Ysaÿe), Bruno Giuranna, Alain Meunier, Ani Kavafian, Eszter Haffner, Adrian Brendel and more.

Competitions reserved to the members of the completed advanced courses (chamber music, violin, viola, cello and piano) with important prize money, music instruments and concerts.

An important concerts programming, with concerts held by guest maestros and the best present musicians.

CHILINGIRIAN STRING ENSEMBLE SUMMER SCHOOL 


West Sussex, United Kingdom
July 18th-22nd

 
Summer school with Levon ChilingirianRonald Birks, Stephen Ortonand and Susie Meszaros

An occasion to study a repertoire of your own choice, with intensive, yet informal, daily coaching from the Chilingirian Quartet, to participate in collaborative ensemble playing sessions in the evenings and to attend a public concert by the Chilingirian Quartet.

ZEIST MUSIC DAYS

 

Zeist, the Netherlands

August 11th-25th

 

Two weeks filled with chamber music, festival concerts and daily masterclasses by internationally renowned musicians. This years’ coaching staff consists of famous and experienced musicians: the Schumann Quartett; the Jerusalem Quartet; Polish cellist and founder of the Szymanowski Quartet Marcin Sieniawski; violinist and founder of Sitkovetsky Trio Alexander Sitkovetsky and Wu Qian, pianist of the Sitkovetsky Trio.

 

The applications have to be provided at the latest by June 10th 2018.

INTERNATIONAL SUMMER ACADEMY FESTIVAL


Vienna, Austria
August 12th-26th 

The 28th edition of ISA Festival has as key theme "Music and Democracy".


Nearly 40 concerts in 14 days will present isa's intensive artistic work. The Festival, apart from giving opportunities to perform your academy repertoire,  also includes concerts that feature outstanding interpretations by participants, performances by wellknown isa faculty members, and several concerts of the “Open Chamber Music” series in which selected isa participants can present themselves together with professors.

MASTER 4STRINGS

A two days focus for string quartets with one of the greatest musicians of our times!

Masterclass of ADVANCED TRAINING for string quartets, chamber ensembles, viola, violin, cello, classic guitar, piano, double bass, addressed to young professional musicians.

The aim is to offer to students a complete training pack and affordable, for a period of ten day, during which the musicians will have the possibility to study together with Quartetto di Cremona.

During the Masterclass classes will be held every day
There will be three concerts
The price per person is 250€

BORLETTI BUITONI TRUST


The Borletti-Buitoni Trust helps outstanding young musicians to develop and sustain international careers with awards that fund tailor-made projects. However, the Trust considers the value of receiving a BBT Award or Fellowship to be far greater than the direct financial assistance given. It aims to provide advice, guidance and contacts as well as public relations exposure for artists’ BBT-funded projects.

ACCADEMIA WALTER STAUFFER

Since 1985, the Accademia Stauffer holds annual advanced courses for the training of string musicians, executors of chamber music and soloists. The courses are held by Salvatore Accardo, violin  Bruno Giuranna, viola – Antonio Meneses, cello – Franco Petracchi, contrabass. Since 2011, a new advanced course for the training of string quartets is held by Quartetto di Cremona.

Since 30 years, ProQuartet has contributed to the influence of the string quartet, supported the entire chamber music community, and expanded the audiences that are interested in it.

An incubator of artists of excellence, ProQuartet works to introduce young chamber music ensembles in four key areas: concert production and distribution, training, creation and cultural action.

EUROPEAN CHAMBER MUSIC ACADEMY 

ECMA was founded in 2004 at the initiative of Hatto Beyerle. It is an association of European music universities, conservatoires and festivals in the field of chamber music that, together, provide ongoing training for chamber music ensembles.
