IL QUARTETTO, QUESTO SCONOSCIUTO
Brief History of the String Quartet
curated by Simone Gramaglia and Chiara Lijoi
The first online format signed by Le Dimore del Quartetto is born within the Archipelago project, the concert season organized in Venice at the Auditorium Lo Squero, in collaboration with Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Jeunesses Musicales Italia and Fondazione Walter Stauffer.
Simone Gramaglia (artistic director of Le Dimore del Quartetto and Archipelago, as well as the viola of the Quartetto of Cremona) together with Chiara Lijoi (project coordinator for Le Dimore del Quartetto and musicologist) will conduct three episodes about the string quartet world, discovering composers and repertoire through stories and anecdotes. To enrich the exchange, each episode will see the presence of a guest from a different background: a scholar, a musician, a philosopher.

LE DIMORE DEL QUARTETTO DOES NOT STOP
Le Dimore del Quartetto constantly works to design and plan future projects that meet the society’s needs by offering innovative solutions to the promotion of the cultural and artistic heritage. For this reason, we operate on multiple fronts: we participate to regional, national and European calls and we collaborate with numerous partners specialised in different fields.

SUPPORT TO OUR HOUSES' PRODUCTION
In this tough time, we are not able to enhance the beauty of our network Houses through artistic residencies and concerts of our Ensembles. The value of networking anyhow reveals itself especially in these moments: we have decided to support all the Houses that run agricultural and productive activities by creating newsletters focused on the promotion of their products.

The town house, built in the 18th century on the Parisian model, that is between the courtyard and the garden, is directly inspired by the greatest contemporary successes like the Hôtel de Matignon and the Palais de l'Elysée, reproduced in the architectural treatises of that era.

Casale del Duca rises dominating the rolling hills of the Marche region. The recent restoration was intended to give back its ancient austere and elegant appearance to the building; love and passion towards our rural building heritage did the rest.

Built in the 1950s, it is located on the Turin hills, in the Cavoretto area. It has a large garden, the result of the merger with the adjoining property. The name La Scontrosa is due to a somewhat reserved grace of the villa.

"We would be more than glad to cooperate, to host whenever in the future some artists, to listen to you, to the artists and to the audience. My sincere hope ist that this crisis will enhance the solidarity between people, Europe and most countries, and remind us all that we live on the same planet for a limited time. Our best wishes to Italy, so badly stricken by the virus, to you all and your loved ones."

"Many thanks to Francesca Moncada for letting us know about the Le Dimore del Quartetto social enterprise, founded by her to allow young musicians to perform in the most beautiful places in our country and in the world. Its success demonstrates how a brilliant idea, skillfully managed, attracts and drags everyone. It made us really want to go out NOW and listen to a quartet together!"

"[...] Ours was the first group to join Le Dimore del Quartetto and since then we have been enriched by travels, experiences, meetings with extraordinary people and witnessed a dizzying increase in interest in the string quartet world. With these words we say goodbye to the project and leave room for other young groups eager to live our experience. THANK YOU AND CHEERS FOR THE STRING QUARTET!"
