"It's a complicated year, but I feel like starting to think about Christmas - like never before - can make us smile again, even for a while. Let me introduce myself, I'm Maria Renata, lifelong friend of Francesca Moncada, soul of Le Dimore del Quartetto: a passion for beauty and love for music binds us. When we met again some time ago in Paris on the occasion of a wonderful musical afternoon, we promised each other that sooner or later we would have done something together, and here I am telling you about how I will color my Christmas and that of my loved ones, despite everything..."

PODERE MARELLA, CASTIGLIONE DEL LAGO

COSIMO BISIACH
An image of...
In 1974 Fiammetta Inga, a young woman who grew up in Liguria, Piedmont and Lombardy, after selling the lands inherited from her grandfather in Val Padana, moved from northern Italy to Podere Marella, founding what later became one of the first organic wineries in Italy. Today the winery and the farm are managed by her son Cosimo and his wife, with unchanged passion, enthusiasm and essential attention to quality in the production of wines that are first of all good, but also respectful of the territory and the principles of organic production.
Even today, the attention to quality is at the center of all stages of the production process, starting with the manual harvesting and the rigorous selection of the grapes. All Podere Marella wines, together with the Fagiolina del Trasimeno – an African tiny bean with ancient origins, introduced in the territories of Lake Trasimeno thanks to the commercial activity of the Etruscans – and the Red Lentils, are certified by BioAgriCert, a control body for agriculture and organic products recognized by the European Union.

VILLA UGO, CORTONA

SABATINI FAMILY
dimore quartetto villa ugo cortona sabatini
There are four members of the two branches of the Sabatini family to whom we owe the creation of SABATINI GIN: Filippo, Enrico, Niccolò and the father of the last two, Ugo. They share a passion for the aperitif ritual which in the family dates back to the beginning of the last century. In fact, it all started with Guglielmo Giacosa, Ugo Sabatini’s maternal grandfather. This family passion was married with the desire to do something that involved all the members and their land, in particular Cortona and Teccognano, the Tuscan town that gave the company its name. Here are the family homes, acquired by the great-grandparents in the early twentieth century: Villa Sabatini and Villa Ugo, the latter center of flourishing tourist activities.
Few people know that the best Juniper, used for the production of many high quality Gins, comes from Tuscany. Here, in Teccognano, in the province of Arezzo, the Sabatini’s, a family very close to this land, have decided to make this bond even closer, to raise, so to speak, the degree of Tuscanity of Gin and create a London Dry Gin of excellence that brings with it the scents and suggestions of the Tuscan hills.

VILLA TOTTI E TERRE DEL SILLABO, MUTIGLIANO

LORENZO ENRIQUES AND GIAMPI MORETTI
m_dimore-quartetto-villa-totti-
Villa Totti draws its name from an influential family of Lucca that dates back to the medieval times and is located in Mutigliano, a fraction of Lucca, and was built in the XVI century following a project attributed to Nicolao Civitali (Lucca, 1482-1560), son of the sculptor and architect Matteo Civitali. It is surrounded by a vast olive grove and it is set on the first hills one meets leaving Lucca, on the left of the Freddana river.
The wines of Villa Totti are produced by the Terre del Sillabo winery of Giampi and Clara Moretti, which has the exclusive cultivation and vinification of the grapes from the Villa Totti vineyard in Mutigliano (LU). They harvest from thirty-year-old vines and produce an average of 15,000 bottles a year without ever buying grapes or wine from third parties: what they bottle comes only from those lands.
For this Christmas they propose two of their classic whites.
Terre del Sillabo considers whites like a prominent red, seeking complexity and richness in them: they carry out long refinements and are only released when a wine seems to have reached the right level of ripeness, regardless of the harvest in which it was born.

CASA DELL'ABATE NALDI, SAN QUIRICO D'ORCIA

LORENZA AND VITTORIO CIPOLLA
dimore-quartetto-vittorio e lorenza-casa-abate-naldi 2
"I am convinced that the best way to preserve a historic house is to use it"
– Lorenza Santo

The house takes its name from Matteo Naldi, physician and archiatrist of Pope Chigi, who lived there in the 17th century. Since the end of the 1600s, Casa dell'Abate Naldi has become the property of Angelo Simonelli, an art expert and collaborator of Cardinal Flavio Chigi, Marquis of San Quirico. An underground vein of attention to the Arts has unraveled over the centuries and has remained in the House. Vittorio and Lorenza have chosen to live in the family home they love very much, to preserve it and in the hope of passing it on to future generations.
experiences
Come and visit Lorenza and Vittorio, they will take you on a journey through time thanks to the stories of the characters who lived in this house. You will see how the architecture, the furnishings and decorations have stratified over time, from the lounge to the hanging garden to the small tower from which you can enjoy an unusual view of San Quirico and the Valdorcia.
